COMACO Person of the Month - June

Michelle Monroe, PhD, has proved invaluable to WCS and the COMACO program. Joining in 2005 and working as volunteer, Michelle has helped to manage and administer the COMACO Database. She has also been responsible for redesigning and updating the database to better support analysis of the COMACO program as its activities continue to grow. Through her efforts, the database has been greatly developed, and improved information can now be retrieved.
In her work, Michelle is always in close contact with the COMACO Regional Data Analysts and helps out when they encounter problems with regards to data entry and analysis. Realising that good data management and correct data analysis is important to obtaining accurate results, Michelle organised a two day training workshop for all the COMACO Regional Data Analysts. Through this workshop, various issues regarding data collection, management and analysis were discussed and appropriate methods adopted.
Michelle has also been influential in the analysis of various datasets and generation of key COMACO papers. For her outstanding contribution to the COMACO program, WCS is proud to recognize her as COMACO person of the month.
