Quality Adventure, Commitment to Conservation

Follow in the footsteps of a traditional hunter/poacher turned conservationist. Along game trails, discover the Luangwa Valleys unspoiled wildness. By campfire listen to authentic bush tales told by people who lived them, and by night dine along the bank of the Luangwa River, where hippos are your closest company. For family, naturalist or the discerning adventurer, be accommodated in luxury you can afford. No where else will you find a better way to experience so much of an authentic African experience and with such service and attention than at one of COMACOs three Its Wild! Bushcamps.

Each bushcamp is located on pristine, unspoiled traditional land where wildlife is protected and cared for by the local community under the COMACO program. Each camp is managed by a qualified manager with staff trained in all the necessary skills to make your stay relaxed, adventurous and safe. With no more than three chalets, each bushcamp is exclusive, quiet and serene. Chalet designs are spacious and open to the surrounding scenic views. Experience a hot shower with a ceiling open to a tree canopy or a moon-lit sky. Toilets and showers are built onto each chalet with an African dcor of local bushart and an outdoor openness. Chalets come with solar lighting and 24-hour security guards.

What is especially unique about the Its Wild! Bushcamps is that they are majority-owned by the local community and net revenues generated are shared equally among the different villages in the community. Communities manage their bushcamps jointly with COMACO and feel the pride of having people from all over the world visit their area to see their wildlife and to feel welcomed and cared for by their own people trained in hospitality services.
